First things first – starting a business is HARD WORK!
You start with a great idea and a vague notion of the steps you need to take, but when you spend day after day plowing away and see slow progress, it can start to feel disheartening.
You start to wonder if it’s ever going to work.
Normally you would turn to friends and family for support. As much as they want to help, they just don’t understand what it’s like to run a business. Their wisdom can only go so far and sometimes you may even start to feel resentful that they can’t help you more.
the value of a community
From running live monthly events since August 2013, I understand the value in creating a network of likeminded people – people who understand the highs and lows of starting and running a business, people to bounce ideas off of, people to motivate and inspire you, people to support you when you feel like giving up and getting a “real job”.
I aim to make the Social Startup Space community one of the most supportive ones out there. A place where you can come and connect with other entrepreneurs, bounce your ideas off people, expand your network, support each other and share your expertise.
